What it does

CashFlow is a web app for managing your day-to-day money. Photograph a receipt and the entry fills itself in. And because borrowed money is kept apart from income, the number at the top is what you can actually spend today.

Photograph a receipt

Camera or file, photo or PDF, a single receipt or a whole bank statement. Every entry comes back filled in with a category suggested, and nothing is saved until you have checked it.

Or type it in

No receipt, no problem. Add it by hand in a few seconds, or tell CashBot by text or voice. Change or delete any entry later, and there is an undo button if you delete one by accident.

Four numbers, not one

Borrowed money is never counted as income. One screen shows what you can actually spend, your debt, what you are owed, and what you have put away. Tap any figure to see the entries behind it.

People and pots

Who owes you and who you owe, name by name, with the full history. Set a date you expect money back, and the app flags it if the date passes. Savings sit in their own named pots.

Every currency

Record in any of 160 currencies. Each keeps its own exact figures, with an approximate net worth in your main currency. Download any range as a PDF or a spreadsheet.

Yours alone, on your phone

Entries and receipt photos are locked to your account by the database itself. One tap hides every amount on screen. Everything works on a small screen, camera included.

CashBot, the CashFlow assistant

Meet CashBot

No filters, no searching, no spreadsheets. Type a question the way you would ask a friend, and get the number straight back.

  • “How much did I spend on food last month?”
  • “Who still owes me money?”
  • “How much can I actually spend today?”

It only reads your own records

Every answer comes from what you have entered. If the figure is not there, CashBot says so instead of guessing.

It answers, it does not advise

CashBot tells you what your money did. What to do about it stays your decision, not a robot’s.

Questions

Is CashFlow free?
Yes. CashFlow is free to use. There is no paid tier, no trial period and no card required to make an account.
How does taking a photo of a receipt work?
Point your phone camera at the receipt, or upload a photo or PDF. A vision model reads the image and fills in the total, the date, the shop and a suggested category. Nothing is saved until you have looked at it and confirmed it, so a misread never lands in your records silently.
Can it read a whole bank statement, not just one receipt?
Yes. Upload a statement as a PDF or an image and every transaction on it is read at once, up to 100 rows. You get a review screen listing them all, where each row can be edited or removed before saving. Rows that look like something you already have are flagged and left unticked, so importing the same statement twice does not double your figures.
Why does it treat borrowed money differently from income?
Because borrowed money is not income, and counting it as income makes your balance lie to you. CashFlow records eight kinds of transaction rather than two, so money you borrowed, money you lent, and money you set aside are each tracked separately. Your spendable balance, what you owe, what you are owed and what you have saved are four different numbers.
Can I keep track of money friends owe me?
Yes. Money you lend and money you borrow are recorded against a person's name, and there is a page showing each person, what you owe them, what they owe you, when it is due back, and the net figure. People who have settled up drop off the list, and the full history stays in your transactions.
Which currencies does it support?
Every circulating currency, all 160 of them, searchable by code or by name. You can add your own three-letter code for anything the list does not cover, and you can keep more than one currency in the same account: totals are shown per currency and never converted. The exceptions are an approximate net worth and total in your main currency, shown beside the exact figures with the date of the exchange rate used. Every transaction stores the currency it was recorded in, so changing your main currency later never rewrites history.
Can I get my data out?
Yes, at any time. Any date range exports as a formatted PDF statement or as a CSV spreadsheet, from the settings page. Both are built from the same query, so the two files always agree.
Who can see my receipts and transactions?
Only you. Every row and every uploaded file is scoped to your account by the database itself, not by application code, and receipts are kept in a private bucket. To read a receipt, the image is sent to the AI provider that extracts it; nothing else leaves the app, and there is no shared key that could expose one account's data to another.
Does CashBot give financial advice?
No, deliberately. CashBot answers questions about records you already have, such as how much you spent on food last month or who owes you the most. It will not tell you whether to take a loan, where to invest or whether you can afford something. Asked one of those, it says so and offers the relevant figures instead, so the decision stays yours.
Do I need to install an app?
No. It runs in your phone or desktop browser, including the camera, so there is nothing to download and nothing to update.

Support

CashFlow is small and still growing, so what gets built next is mostly decided by what people ask for. Tell us what you need, what went wrong, or what you were expecting instead. It goes straight to the person who builds it.

Feedback comes from inside the app, so replies have somewhere to go and one person cannot flood the inbox. It is under your account menu, on every page.

Make an account, pick your currency, and take one photo. That is the whole setup.
